The leaves have many traditional medicinal uses, especially for the treatment of coughs, sore throats, nasal congestion, infections, rheumatism, fever, chronic asthma, hiccup, bronchitis, convulsions, epilepsy, skin ulcerations, insect bite, skin allergy, wounds and diarrhoea.
